Our 12 principles

Our principles, together with the rules of corporate governance and the Group’s policy documents, constitute a framework for our operations and apply to every employee and board member at AMB. This also includes our priorities and our local responsibilities.

Our values – Flexible, Professional and Committed – guide us in how we should think, as formulated in our 12 principles. Based on this, we then select a method i.e. how we must act in each individual case. These principles are set out in brief below, in no particular order.

Working preventively

We work pro actively to minimise risks in the operation, and in doing so we create a more peaceful, safer workplace with few disruptions.

Right from the outset

Our desire to always deliver the best quality from each operation and sub-process in order to detect and remedy deviations from the norm at an early stage.

Fact-based decisions

Taking the right decisions requires facts based on a detailed understanding of the operation. The people who work with a process every day know the most about it.

Visualisation

We need simple, easily accessible information to make it easy to see if everything is as it should be or if something needs fixing.

Standardised working methods

Tasks are performed in the same way, every time and by everyone. Each task must be clearly described to make it easy to do the right thing and easy to see when things aren’t right.

Needs-driven work

Needs-driven work entails a constant endeavour to be as close to real customer needs as possible.

Continuous improvements

Continuous improvements means seeing every problem as an opportunity to improve the norm.

Working in groups

We are organised into groups who work together to solve a task or improve the operation, often across departmental boundaries in order to benefit from each other’s expertise.

Developmental leadership

Our managers understand our processes and live by our values and principles in order to foster employees in the same spirit.

Active employeeship

We are all jointly responsible for things not covered by work instructions and procedures. In being so, we get active and responsible employees who enjoy work, are engaged, and who wish to continue developing.

Openness

As far as possible, information must be open to everyone in the company. This helps us make better decisions and be better at prioritising what is important.

Respecting our collaborative partners

Because our company works in a wider context it’s important that we respect and trust each other in the value chain and develop together.

Priorities

The order of priority only takes over in unusual situations or when priorities are in conflict. Naturally, our own occupational health and safety and that of others always has the highest priority. Quality before delivery means we do not supply products that lack the necessary quality, etc.

Order of priority

1. Health and safety/Environment
2. Quality
3. Delivery
4. Finance
