Case studies
inne by Feral: .inne Ovulation Indicator
A mini-laboratory that indicates ovulation by measuring the amount of progesterone in saliva. AMB provides design support and injection molds around ten components, coats the reader with soft-touch paint, marks it with laser engraving and pad printing before final assembly, functional testing, and consumer packaging.
Jolife: Lucas Chest Compression System
A device that straps around the patient’s chest to provide accurate and continuous chest compressions. AMB injection molds the plastic components, purchases components, assembles, final tests, and packages the finished product for direct delivery to the customer’s warehouse.
Frequently Asked Questions about contract manufacturing
Subcontracting involves outsourcing the production of components or products to an external manufacturer. This arrangement is beneficial for companies seeking to ensure high quality and production capacity without having to invest in their own manufacturing facilities.
Contract manufacturing goes a step further than subcontracting and often involves the entire production chain—from development and design to assembly and logistics. The customer can entrust a larger part of the product development and manufacturing process to the manufacturer, creating a comprehensive, cost-effective, and flexible solution.
An OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) is the company that designs and sells a final product under its own brand but may use subcontractors and contract manufacturers to produce parts or the entire product. An OEM is often the client in relation to a contract manufacturer.
