Electronics

Our customers in the Electronics business area are primarily interested in our highly specialised metallising process for plastic parts, a process we often supplement with injection moulding, lacquering and assembly. Our metallising process imparts a thin aluminium layer which effectively protects against static electricity while also acting as a shield against electromagnetic radiation.

Shielding (EMI, RFI, ESD)

Thanks to our technology for coating plastic parts with a thin metal layer, customers with electromagnetic compatibility requirements are able to enjoy the design and cost advantages of plastic when incorporating electronics. With an aluminium layer of 3–5 µm, we achieve a shielding effect that has proved to be more than adequate in a great many applications.

More than one project has been saved by our unique process when a part has fallen just short in an approval test despite electronics that are fundamentally very well-designed.

Read more about the process on the Metallising page and in the blog post about PVD.
