Code of conduct

Home Code of conduct

Code of conduct

AMB´s Code of Conduct explains how our values should be put into practice. It should act as an ethical compass to be followed by all personnel. The code of conduct applies to Board members and contract-based personnel as well. The code also sets out what we expect of our business partners.

Our Code of Conduct is based on documents such as the UN Global Compact, international guidelines and conventions, and the ISO26000 social responsibility standard.

The Code of Conduct provides comprehensive guidance in eight different areas. Within a number of areas the Code of Conduct is supplemented by more detailed policies, guidelines and management systems.

Our Code of Conduct in daily life

The Code of Conduct is part of the AMB´s internal training programs for both new employees and those already working within the company. Managers must behave in such a way that they set an example in the application of the code.

Zero tolerance and continuous improvement

We have a zero tolerance approach to breaches of key areas of the Code of Conduct. This applies, for example, to compliance with legislation, the application of human rights and issues such as bribery, corruption and competition law. In other areas we work systematically and purposefully with continuous improvements.

We respect human rights

  • We treat all people with fairness, dignity and respect.
  • We value and take initiative to develop diversity among our employees.
  • We do not treat employees differently on the basis of their gender, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, political views, social background or ethnic origin.
  • We respect the right of all employees to organize and negotiate a collective agreement. We also respect the right of an employee to refuse to join a union.
  • We do not permit child labour, illegal labour or forced labour.
  • We do not harass, threaten or discriminate. We do not discredit each other.

We offer good working conditions and opportunities for personal development

  • We do not compromise on health and safety issues.
  • We take preventative measures to reduce the risk of accidents and work injuries.
  • We create good relations with our employees and expect involvement in the company’s development.
  • We strive for an organization where employees, based on our principles, can work independently and are confident in making their own decisions.
  • We offer our employees opportunities to develop professional skills and abilities.

We are involved in the networks and communities where we are active

  • We are involved in the local communities where we have operations.
  • We strive to appoint and develop local employees and managers.
  • We participate actively in projects and cooperation with industrial networks, schools, universities and research institutes.
  • We work for the next generation to have increased knowledge of our processes and operations and apply to our company.
  • We prioritize the support and sponsorship of organizations that share our values and that benefit the societies in which we operate. We therefore prioritize associations and organizations that are engaged in matters of great value to our employees and their families.

We adhere to good business ethics

  • We make demands for honesty and integrity in all parts of our operations and expect the same from our business partners.
  • We never offer, nor do we accept, gifts or benefits that could influence, or be seen to influence, the objectivity of the recipients’ decisions or that breach legislation and/or local practice.
  • We avoid situations in which company loyalty could come into conflict with personal interests.
  • We comply with competition law and promote fair competition.
  • We ensure that all employees can raise concerns about irregularities, without the risk of negative personal consequences for whistleblowers.

We address sustainability issues

  • We work hard to reduce the company´s environmental impact and thus contribute to the change to a more sustainable society.
  • We conserve energy, water and materials and other natural resources and aim to increase our use of renewable materials.
  • We take account of environmental and health factors when choosing raw materials, chemical products and distribution methods.
  • We endeavour to cut our emissions of greenhouse gases.
  • We only use electricity from 100 percent renewable energy sources (sun, wind, water and biofuel).
  • We have good emergency preparedness by systematically identifying and evaluating the risk of accidents, fires and uncontrolled emissions.
  • We use our expertise to provide eco-optimization of customers’ products.
  • We disclose transparent and objective information about our environmental work to our employees, the general public and authorities.
  • We shall be certified in accordance with the ISO14001 environmental management standard.

We shall always deliver the right quality

  • We shall always meet our customers’ requirements, needs and expectations by delivering services and products of the right quality.
  • We work with continuous improvements.
  • We conduct regular evaluations of our quality assurance measures through analysis, recording of discrepancies and internal/external audits.
  • We shall be certified in accordance with the ISO9001 and ISO13485 quality assurance systems.

We set sustainability requirements for our suppliers

  • We only work with suppliers that accept and comply with AMB’s code of conduct. We also expect them to pass these values and ethical principles on to their suppliers.
  • We assess suppliers prior to and during our cooperation with them.
  • We encourage our suppliers to introduce certifiable management systems on quality and the environment.
  • We regularly follow up supplier performance within business ethics, social responsibility and sustainability. If they do not comply with our requirements this can result in demands for improvement or that the collaboration is terminated.

We communicate honestly and clearly

  • AMB shall be characterized by open, honest and clear communication with all stakeholders. The goal is to promote AMB’s activities through well-functioning communication.
  • We respect all employees’ freedom of expression about matters that concern them personally. However, all employees must respect the applicable regulations regarding confidentiality of information that is owned by the company and our business partners. On issues regarding AMB’s business conditions and operations, only the company management is entitled to communicate on behalf of AMB.
