Injection moulding<\/h1>\n

Plastic is a fabulous material<\/h2>\n

Thermoplastic injection moulding is a cost-effective production method for the manufacture of components and products for every imaginable type of application. There are very few restrictions on what plastics can be used for, and this is reflected in AMB\u2019s wide range of injection moulded components, from single-use medical technology and consumer products to components in industrial applications that are exposed to truly harsh conditions.<\/p>\n

One of the Swedish pioneers<\/h2>\n

Injection moulding has been part of AMB\u2019s offer ever since the use of the technology exploded in the 1950s as more and more synthetic plastic materials were developed to meet the increasing demand for mass-produced products. Today, AMB uses a large proportion of high performance polymers in the components it produces, such as PA with a high fibreglass content for advanced mechanical applications, and PPS, PPSU and PEEK for components exposed to high temperatures or aggressive chemical environments.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not just about production<\/h2>\n

From an injection moulding perspective, the selection of materials and product design are two important factors to consider during the development of a product. Extensive experience and a large measure of curiosity about what\u2019s going on in the industry provides us with a great ability to help our customers by applying current issues to their development projects. In most projects, the mould filling simulation analysis tool we use is of course important for judging the producibility of a part.<\/p>\n

Advanced production technology<\/h2>\n

Our equipment is made up of around 40 modern, energy-efficient injection moulds that produce parts weighing from 0.1 gramme to just over 1 kilogramme. To achieve optimal production economy and ensure high quality, we aim for a high level of automation and all injection moulders are equipped with some form of automation, either for safe part removal from the injection moulding tool, for 100 per cent visual inspection or for a process stage that follows immediately after such as installation on a lacquering fixture.<\/p>\n

In addition to injection moulding in a regular production environment, we also carry out injection moulding in cleanrooms for medical technology applications.[\/vc_column_text]

The method is efficient and can produce many parts in a short time.   1. Plastic granules are dried and placed in a hopper on the injection <\/span>molding machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. The plastic is melted, and a screw feeds the plastic melt forward.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. The molten plastic is injected into a hot mold<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. The mold is cooled, and the injected plastic part solidifies<\/span><\/li>\n

The tool consists of two halves that are closed when the molten plastic is injected. After cooling, the mold is opened, and the plastic part is ejected. Among other things, the plastic material, the size and complexity of the part and therefore the tool.
