As you can see, lacquering is a fantastic way to refine the function and impression of a plastic part. At AMB, however, we have the opportunity to further enhance the experience by combining lacquering in several layers with vacuum metallization.<\/h3>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator el_width=”80″][vc_column_text 0=””]AMB manufactures plastic-based products and offers various types of surface treatments on mainly plastic on an industrial scale. So-called wet painting, i.e. the paint is liquid, is one of these refining processes. AMB thus does not deal with powder coating where there are also very limited possibilities when it comes to coating plastic. We only use liquid lacquers that are sprayed on the surface to be coated.<\/p>\n

We have two state-of-the-art lacquering systems and together with almost 50 years of experience, we are well equipped for most industrial painting projects for parts up to just over an A4 page size.<\/p>\n

AMB also offers manual lacquering but only for one-component lacquers (so-called 1k lacquers), i.e. laquers without added hardener.<\/p>\n

Since the 1970s, we have metallized and lacquered hundreds of thousands of plastic parts for the lighting industry as well as hundreds of millions of mobile phone components, consumer electronics and medical devices. Today, we are one of few specialists in the world in surface treatment of hearing aids that are produced extremely rationally through a high degree of automation and the integration with our own injection molding.<\/p>\n

It is also to AMB that many companies turn to learn more about what is possible through industrial wet lacquering on mainly plastic.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator el_width=”80″][vc_column_text 0=””]\n

Create special effects through lacquer and metallization<\/h4>\n

Since AMB both produces plastic parts for a variety of uses and also offers different surface treatments for these, we dare to call ourselves specialists in what can be achieved through the combination of plastic and lacquer.<\/p>\n

AMB is the only company in the Nordic region to be able to offer vacuum metallization in combination with painting for various effects and functions since the early 1970s. The metallization is a so-called PVD<\/a> (physical vapor deposition) process, which means that in a vacuum, a metal or alloy is transferred from a solid state to vapor in various ways. The vapor then condenses on the surfaces to be coated and gets a metal coating.<\/p>\n

The metallization looks like a mirror surface that reflects light. Due to our thin film technology, very little metal is used and compared to galvanic processes, it is very environmentally friendly. The metallization creates several functional and decorative possibilities. Imagine a plastic part that looks like an anodized aluminum surface or has different chrome effects.<\/p>\n

Both our manual and fully automatic lacquering are used in combination with metallization.<\/p>\n

A primer lacquer is usually needed to make the surface smoother so that the ultra-thin metal layer of just under 100 nm will have its intended effect.<\/p>\n
